What Families Say
Honest reflections from residents and families who have walked this path with us.

"We spent months feeling uncertain about what to do for our mother. When we finally visited Verdanta, the staff didn't try to convince us of anything β they just showed us around, answered our questions honestly, and let us take our time. My mother has been there for nearly a year now and she is more settled than she has been in years."
"My father has been in the Palliative Comfort Program for four months. I was worried that a residential setting wouldn't be able to give him the kind of careful, attentive care his condition needs. I was wrong. The nursing team communicates clearly, his comfort is genuinely central to everything they do, and I feel included in decisions β not around them."
"The Family Transition Support service helped us think clearly at a point when we were all feeling overwhelmed. The person we worked with didn't rush us, didn't make assumptions about what we wanted, and was honest about both the options and the limitations. I wish we had found it sooner. The first month check-in call after my grandmother moved in was something we really appreciated."
"My husband has dementia, and finding somewhere that genuinely understood that β not just as a clinical fact but as something that affects how he experiences the day β was not easy. The team at Verdanta does. The consistency of the staff matters enormously. He recognises faces now, and that small thing has made a real difference to his daily mood."
"We are a Thai-British family and communication was something we were concerned about. We shouldn't have been. The staff speak English comfortably, our questions are answered in full, and the written updates they send are clear and thoughtful. My mother also has specific dietary needs and these have been handled without fuss from day one."
"The meals really have been better than expected β my father is particular about his food and he has had very few complaints, which says a lot. The nursing team is attentive and knowledgeable. I would say the only thing that took adjustment was getting used to the communication rhythm at first, but once we established a regular update schedule, that settled. Overall, we feel fortunate to have found Verdanta."
Care Stories
Finding Routine After a Difficult Year
An 81-year-old retired teacher had been living alone after the passing of her husband. Her daughter, based in Chiang Mai, was managing her care from a distance and noticed increasing difficulty with daily tasks and signs of loneliness.
The family began with Verdanta's Family Transition Support service to understand the options. After two visits and several conversations, they decided Comprehensive Residential Care was a good fit. The resident joined Verdanta in September 2024.
The resident has become a regular participant in the weekly art group and has formed a close friendship with another resident. Her daughter visits monthly from Chiang Mai and describes a visible improvement in her mother's mood and engagement.
"She has people around her again. That matters more than anything else we could have arranged."
Comfort and Dignity Through a Difficult Chapter
A 74-year-old man with advanced heart failure and limited mobility was being cared for at home by his wife, who was herself in her late sixties. The physical and emotional toll on the family had become significant.
Verdanta worked alongside his existing cardiologist and coordinated closely with the family. A comfort plan was developed that prioritised pain management, daily routines adapted to his energy levels, and private family spaces for his wife and adult children to spend time with him.
The family described the eight months he spent at Verdanta as peaceful. His wife, who had previously been exhausted by the demands of home care, was able to simply be present with him. The care team remained in touch with the family after his passing.
"They gave us back the time to just be his family β not his carers."
