The Verdanta Story
Verdanta was established in Bangkok in 2009 by a small group of healthcare professionals and social workers who had witnessed, first hand, the gaps in elder care available to Thai families. The founding team had spent years working in hospital and community settings, and they came to a shared conclusion: seniors deserved a place that felt like a true home, not a clinical facility.
The name Verdanta draws from Sanskrit roots — combining verdant (lush, living) and santa (peaceful, calm). It reflects the environment the founders set out to create: a residence alive with gentle activity, natural light, and a measured, unhurried pace of daily life.
Over fifteen years, Verdanta has grown steadily through word of mouth and the trust of the families we have served. We have never sought to expand quickly; our commitment has always been to depth of care rather than scale.
"To care for each resident as we would a member of our own family — with attention, patience, and enduring respect for who they are."
Our Leadership Team
Dr. Siriporn Phattanasiri
A geriatrician with over twenty years of experience in elder medicine in Bangkok, Dr. Siriporn oversees clinical standards and physician coordination at Verdanta. She joined the residence in 2011 and shaped much of its current care framework.
Nathawut Wongkham
Nathawut manages day-to-day resident experience, including activity programming, dining, and family communication. His background is in social work and community care, and he brings a grounded, human quality to everything he oversees.
Pornpan Lertchaiporn
Pornpan leads Verdanta's nursing team, ensuring consistent quality across all shifts and care programmes. With a specialism in palliative and long-term care nursing, she is the person families most often turn to for clinical questions and reassurance.
Quality & Safety Protocols
The safety and wellbeing of residents shapes everything we do — from facility design to staff training to how we handle medical routines.
Thai Ministry of Public Health Registration
Verdanta operates in full compliance with Thailand's Ministry of Public Health regulations for residential care facilities, with annual inspections and certifications maintained without interruption.
Medication Safety Programme
All resident medications are managed through a structured dispensing and documentation system. Staff follow a double-check protocol for high-alert medications, with records reviewed by the medical director monthly.
Fire & Emergency Preparedness
The facility undergoes quarterly fire drills, with evacuation plans adapted to each resident's mobility level. Emergency equipment is tested regularly, and all staff complete emergency response training annually.
Privacy & Data Protection
Resident medical records and family information are stored securely and shared only with authorised personnel. We follow Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and treat confidentiality as a fundamental obligation.
Ongoing Staff Development
All care staff participate in ongoing training programmes, including dementia awareness, palliative care approaches, and communication with families. We believe that the quality of care reflects the confidence and knowledge of our team.
Nutritional Standards
Our kitchen operates under Thai food safety regulations, with menus designed by a nutritionist to support elder health needs. Dietary restrictions and preferences — medical, cultural, or personal — are documented and followed consistently.
What Guides Us
Dignity as a Starting Point
At Verdanta, dignity is not an aspiration — it is the baseline from which everything else follows. This means that residents are spoken to with respect, their personal space is treated as their own, and their preferences are sought before decisions are made on their behalf.
Families as Partners
A resident's family carries its own emotional weight through the care journey. We work to keep families informed, to answer questions honestly, and to involve them in care decisions wherever possible. The transition into residential care is a significant moment; we do not take that lightly.
Consistency Over Time
Good elder care is built through consistency — consistent staffing, consistent routines, consistent communication. Residents benefit from familiar faces and predictable days. Verdanta maintains staffing continuity as a deliberate priority, not just an operational convenience.
Honest About Limitations
We are not the right setting for every person. When a family's needs fall outside our scope, we say so clearly and help them find an appropriate alternative. Honesty, even when inconvenient, is something families can rely on from us.
Ready to Learn More?
We welcome families at any stage of the decision process — whether you have specific questions or are simply beginning to explore what residential care might look like.
